Selling a Luxury Home in MacDonald Highlands: How to Choose Your Agent

Updated: 5 days ago
MacDonald Highlands is a guard-gated hillside community in Henderson built around DragonRidge Country Club, with custom estates, golf frontage and sweeping Strip and valley views. In September 2026 its median single-family sale was $2,900,000 (three sales) in the Las Vegas REALTORS® MLS. Only a handful of homes close here in a month, so one estate can move that number a lot.
That is why choosing a listing agent here is different from choosing one in a production subdivision. Your home may have few true comparable sales, every showing passes a guard gate, and a buyer’s first showing often happens on a screen.
What sets the price of a MacDonald Highlands home
View corridor: Strip, valley and mountain views, and how well they are protected.
Lot position: golf frontage, ridge or cul-de-sac placement, elevation and privacy.
Architecture and builder: the custom builder, the design era and the quality of finishes.
Condition and systems: roofs, HVAC, pools, glass and smart-home systems on a hillside lot.
Club and association: DragonRidge Country Club membership is separate from owning a home, so confirm current terms with the club. Ask the association about showing, signage and open-house rules behind the gate.
Seven questions to ask before you hire a listing agent
How will you price a one-of-a-kind home with few comparable sales? Look for several months of closed, pending and expired sales, price per square foot by view and lot, and an honest range, not just the highest number.
What will the marketing look like before the first showing? Ask to see real video, photography, drone and print from the agent’s recent work.
Where will buyers see it? The MLS and its syndication are the baseline. Ask about video, social, email and out-of-state reach.
How do you run showings behind the gate? Expect pre-qualified buyers, scheduled access and someone present to protect your privacy and valuables.
How often will I hear from you? Weekly updates with showing feedback and online activity should be the minimum.
Who handles the details after the offer? Inspection responses, appraisal, escrow and the final walkthrough all need a plan.
What do your clients say? Read verified reviews on Google and Zillow, not only the testimonials on a website.
