Things to Do Near MacDonald Highlands & Ascaya
Up on the hill, the best things to do start at your own gate: DragonRidge golf, Ascaya's clubhouse and trails, and the Black Mountain foothills out back. Green Valley Ranch and The District are ten minutes down. Here is Antonio's short list, checked September 2026.
Club Life
DragonRidge Country Club · MacDonald Highlands. A private course by Jay Morrish and David Druzisky, plus tennis, spa, fitness and pool for members.
Ascaya Clubhouse · Ascaya. A 23,000-square-foot clubhouse with a zero-edge pool, fitness center, tennis and pickleball for residents.
Ascaya trails & park · Ascaya. More than 2 miles of private trails with overlooks, and a 2-acre park with a splash pad and putting green.
Outdoors
Amargosa Trail · Black Mountain foothills. A city trail running along the foothills toward Anthem.
Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area · South of Anthem. BLM land with petroglyphs, and a strenuous trail toward the Black Mountain summit.
River Mountains Loop Trail · Henderson to Lake Mead. The 34-mile paved loop for biking and walking.
Down the Hill
Green Valley Ranch spa & pool · Green Valley Ranch Resort. The resort spa and pool, ten minutes from the gates.
The District at Green Valley Ranch · Village Walk Dr. Shopping, dining and a fall concert series.
Henderson Silver Knights · Lee's Family Forum. AHL hockey. The home opener is October 3, 2026.
